½ðɳÌü / Te Kura Tuarua o Waihora (The School Secondary of Lake Ellesmere) is part of the educational hub of NgÄå Matapuna o NgÄå PÄåkihi.
The NgÄå Matapuna o NgÄå PÄåkihi area falls within the takiwÄå of Te Taumutu RÅ«nanga, one of 18 NgÄåi Tahu Papatipu RÅ«nanga, based at Te PÄå o Moki Marae, Taumutu. We have an extremely strong and important relationship with Te Taumutu RÅ«nanga, allowing us to utilise their knowledge, prowess and strength. Te Taumutu RÅ«nanga is the representative body and kaitiaki (guardians) of Te Waihora and the surrounding takiwÄå (region), including the whole of the Selwyn District, which ½ðɳÌü is a part of.
Te Taumutu RÅ«nanga have strong interests in the Selwyn District and as part of the Education portfolio agreement, Te Taumutu is recognised as the kaitiaki of the educational institutions in the district. The takiwÄå (territory) of NgÄåi Te Ruahikihiki, the hÄåpu who are represented by Te Taumutu RÅ«nanga is centred around Te Waihora (Lake Ellesmere) and extends across the central part of KÄå PÄåkihi Whakatekateka o Waitaha (the Canterbury Plains) to KÄå Tiritiri o Te Moana (The Southern Alps) to the west, the Waimakariri River in the north and to the Hakatere (Ashburton River) in the south.

½ðɳÌü is a member of the NgÄå MÄåtÄåpuna o NgÄå PÄåkihi KÄåhui Ako/Community of Learning, which collaborates on various programmes, projects and initiatives.

- We have a shared kÄåhui ako strategic plan.
- We have established a Stewardship Group, which includes representation from the Board members and Principals from our schools and an ECE representative.
- In 2017 the first Lead Principals were appointed, and the first Achievement Challenges were approved by the Minister of Education.
- In 2018 the first Across School (ASLs) and Within School Lead Teacher (WSLs) positions were appointed.
- In 2019 work on implementing the achievement challenge focus areas started.
- In 2021 we set four new Achievement Challenges, appointed four new ASLs and work continues on these for 2022.
- We operate with two co-lead principals in a shared leadership role, alternating for two years each.
In 2022 ½ðɳÌü has nine WSL positions, and two staff-members hold an Across School Leader position.
